Asbestos is a fibroussubstance that when inhaled can silently and slowly kill you, presenting no symptoms untill it’s too late, James Hardie ( A building supplier group) used to use products which contained asbestos and so workers would breath this asbestos in and they would slowly die because of it. So as compensation there has been a lot of law-suits and campaigns against the business.
There may also be other cases in which this happened

when asbestos was proven to be dangerous, it was outlawed for building companies to use it. since it was cheap, most companies broke the law and didnt change their policies. now, people are getting cancer, mesothelioma, etc. from inhaling asbestos particles. if the companies had taken proper precautions, those people could not sue.
